MILES APART - by Terrence Narinesi

MILES APART

by  Terrence  Narinesingh, Trinidad

Tonight I don't feel the same
In this empty room without you
A lonely heart that remains
Stops beating the way it used to.

The wait flies by like lightning
As time freezes her hands
Meaning to life is missing
And I am less of a man.

Counting the days to your return
Like an impatient schoolchild
Though the world crashes and burns
Is your heart still one with mine ?

Eyes run dry with bloody tears
My soul wanders into nothingness
Holding your picture here
I paint your lips and reminisce.
