A LOVE SONG - by Karl Fuchs

A  LOVE  SONG

by  Karl Fuchs

Let me sing you a love song
About what I feel in my heart;
Butterflies can't find nectar
Whenever we're apart.

You're a flower in bloom.
In the dark, in the gloom,
It's you who brightens my day.
How many ways do I need you?
Every day, every way, come what may.

UPSET - by DayDreamer11

UPSET

by   DayDreamer11

You asked me If I was upset last night
I said no.
I lied.

the truth is I was upset.
I had a few too many shots of the alcohol Hidden in my closet.
and after all the fun was over and I was left alone with my thoughts
I cried on the shower floor for an hour

I think back to last night and wonder
if I wasn't alone
would I have cried as much as I did ?
if I had a little bit more to drink
would I still be here right now ?

when you asked me if I was upset
I thought back on everything that ran through
my mind the night before
I got that feeling in my throat
like I was about to burst in tears right there
on the spot

everything hurts and I'm sorry I can't change
any of it. I'm sorry my behavior worries you.

WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND ? - by James Kavanaugh

WILL  YOU  BE  MY  FRIEND ?

by James Kavanaugh

Will you be my friend ?
There are so many reasons why you never should:
I’m sometimes sullen, often shy, acutely sensitive,
My fear erupts as anger, I find it hard to give,
I talk about myself when I’m afraid
And often spend a day without anything to say.
    But I will make you laugh
And love you quite a bit
And hold you when you’re sad.
I cry a little almost every day
Because I’m more caring than the strangers ever know,
And, if at times, I show my tender side
(The soft and warmer part I hide)
I wonder, will you be my friend ?

    A friend who far beyond the feebleness of any vow or tie
Will touch the secret place where I am really I,
To know the pain of lips that plead and eyes that weep,
Who will not run away when you find me in the street
Alone and lying mangled by my quota of defeats
But will stop and stay-to tell me of another day
When I was beautiful.
Will you be my friend ?

    There are so many reasons why you never should:
Often I’m too serious, seldom predictably the same,
Sometimes cold and distant, probably I’ll always change.
I bluster and brag, seek attention like a child,
I brood and pout, my anger can be wild,
But I will make you laugh and love you quite a bit
And be near you when you’re afraid.

    I shake a little almost every day
Because I’m more frightened than the strangers ever know
And if at times I show my trembling side
(The anxious, fearful part I hide)
I wonder, will you be my friend ?

    A friend who, when I feel your closeness, feels me push away
And stubbornly will stay to share what’s left on such a day,
Who, when no one knows my name or calls me on the phone,
When there’s no concern for me – what I have or haven’t done-
And those I’ve helped and counted on have oh, so deftly, run,
Who, when there’s nothing left but me, stripped of charm and
Subtlety, will nonetheless remain.

    Will you be my friend ?
For no reason that I know, Except I want you so.

WHERE ARE THE JOYS I HAVE MET - by Robert Burns

WHERE  ARE  THE  JOYS  I  HAVE  MET

by Robert Burns

Where are the joys I have met in the morning,
That danc’d to the lark’s early song ?
Where is the peace that awaited my wand’ring,
At evening the wild-woods among ?

No more a winding the course of yon river,
And marking sweet flowerets so fair,
No more I trace the light footsteps of Pleasure,
But Sorrow and sad-sighing Care.

Is it that Summer’s forsaken our valleys,
And grim, surly Winter is near ?
No, no, the bees humming round the gay roses
Proclaim it the pride of the year.

Fain would I hide what I fear to discover,
Yet long, long, too well have I known;
All that has caused this wreck in my bosom,
Is Jenny, fair Jenny alone.

Time cannot aid me, my griefs are immortal,
Nor Hope dare a comfort bestow:
Come then, enamour’d and fond of my anguish,
Enjoyment I’ll seek in my woe.

MY WISH FOR YOU.... - by Charlie

MY  WISH  FOR  YOU....

by  Charlie

May the angels fly down and kiss you upon the face
May they hold you in an everlasting embrace.

May the angels sing you a peaceful song
May they gently rock you all night long.

May the angels take all your worries away
May they show you a pleasant new day.

May you rise and open your eyes
May you look out your window and see the sunrise.

May the angels help guide you through the day
May they show you the right and proper way.

I ask the angels to do these things for you
For they are things that I am unable to do.

How I long to just feel you next to me
To let you know this is the way it should be.

Please know you are forever in my heart
Even though we are worlds apart.

We may be in a different time and place
But we have a love that they can't replace.

MY HEART - by Ryan Hahs

MY  HEART

by   Ryan  Hahs

What's that faint sound that I hear?
I stop, I listen with an open ear
A drumming, beating noise I think
Is it a drip coming from my sink?

It's not but what on earth could it be?
It must be a woodpecker out in a tree
Or is it a clock just ticking away?
I can't tell for sure... I cannot say

Maybe it's closer and much more real
It seems near enough to touch or feel
I realize now how close, how true
My heart beats aloud, my love for you

TODAY'S MY DAUGHTER'S WEDDING - by Andrew

TODAY'S  MY  DAUGHTER'S  WEDDING

by  Andrew

Today's my daughter's wedding day.
And a wonderful thing it is;
To see her so excited,
So happy to be his.

But once she was my baby girl;
My first born, love of my life.
But now she is a woman,
And just became his wife.

Once she was my baby girl,
Loved her daddy, and her toys;
But then, I couldn't stop it,
She grew up, and loved the boys.

Today's my daughter's wedding day.
How fast the time did go;
From little feet, and Sesame Street,
To a wedding gown it flowed.

From golden locks, and lollipops,
She grew up straight and tall.
From baby things, to a wedding ring;
How I loved her through it all.

And now she will go forward,
To enter married life.
To share the good and bad times,
The happiness, and the strife.

I wish them both, the best of luck;
With a prayer that my eyes will see;
That God will Bless them with a baby girl,
Just like he gave to me...

WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH - by Ron Carnell

WORDS  ARE  NOT  ENOUGH

by  Ron Carnell

The words "I miss you" can not display
The depths of how I care.

The words "I want you" do not betray
The extent of what I dare.

The words "I need you" can not convey
The extent of my prayer.

The words "I love you" do not portray
The heights of my err.

WHY SHOULD NOT OLD MEN BE MAD ? - by William Butler Yeats

WHY  SHOULD  NOT  OLD  MEN  BE  MAD  ?

by William Butler Yeats

Why should not old men be mad?
Some have known a likely lad
That had a sound fly-fisher's wrist
Turn to a drunken journalist;
A girl that knew all Dante once
Live to bear children to a dunce;
A Helen of social welfare dream,
Climb on a wagonette to scream.
Some think it a matter of course that chance
Should starve good men and bad advance,
That if their neighbours figured plain,
As though upon a lighted screen,
No single story would they find
Of an unbroken happy mind,
A finish worthy of the start.
Young men know nothing of this sort,
Observant old men know it well;
And when they know what old books tell
And that no better can be had,
Know why an old man should be mad.

A DREAM - by Ehsan Sehgal

A  DREAM

by  Ehsan  Sehgal

I had dreamed
To meet and see
A lovely and wonderful person
Who would be
The companion of my life
I lived in dreams
That see without asking
That come without thinking
I had looked that dreams
I searched its meaning
And then it happened
I felt that
I had conquered
The world of dreams
But when I woke up
I had lost years of my life
And the life was gone

I HAVEN'T KNOWN YOU VERY LONG by Richard Neil Thompson

I  HAVEN'T  KNOWN  YOU  VERY  LONG

by Richard Neil Thompson

I haven't known you very long
but that's not the way I feel;
I've told you all about me
I have nothing to conceal.

What I say may sound silly now
but you'll find it to be true;
I never thought that when we met
I would fall in love with you.

I'LL FIND YOU ONE DAY - by Mahtab Bangalee

I'LL  FIND  YOU  ONE  DAY

by   © Mahtab   Bangalee

I'll find you one day
in this raining
where you'll be absorbed in
making the rain drops bower of love

I'll find you one day
in this morning
where the autumnal breeze will make
you calm for the sun rising in life

I'll find you one day
on this landscape alone
where your loneliness will tread
the fallen yellow spring leaves
which are lain as the blanket of winter coolness

I’ll find you one day
in the crowded city of the world
where your crossing will leave
a letter of love
when I’ll  buy flowers just for you as lovelorn

I’ll find you one day
in such a winter season
when nightingale will sing a love song
for our together living
where never will come back the other seasons

I’ll find you one day
in my smiling good morning
within swansong of life hug,
with a crimson and white rose water
on my arms with a kiss of breakfast
