A WINDING ROAD
by Linda L. Chew
I know of a winding road
that has its own beauty
with elegant--even stately trees
peppered up and down each side
Mountain laurels growing
in the lower vegetation
along with wild flowers of all colors
sprinkled here and there
A bunny stopped
in the middle of the road
for a minute not knowing where to go
A fawn laying in a small thicket
Its mother standing at attention
in the deep of the woods
While a grouse goes speedily by
I consider myself lucky
to know of such a place
And when I'm there realizing
at that time, I'm a part of it
I'm not sure where it goes
or what's around every corner
but this path thru life
is beautiful so far
