THE SIMPLEST THINGS - by Lauren Eise Combs

THE  SIMPLEST  THINGS

by  Lauren Eise Combs

It's the simplest things
That make life worthwhile,
Sunlight on water
A baby's smile.

A robin's bright song
At the start of the day,
The sweet, clean aroma
Of freshly mown hay.

A breeze in the tree tops
That whispers and sighs,
Cold, brilliant starlight
In dark winter skies.

Crisp apple cider
On an October morn,
A mourning dove's call
Sad and forlorn.

Rain gently falling
On dry thirsty land,
A friend who will listen
And then understand.

A soft sandy beach
Stretching mile after mile,
It's the simplest things
That make life worthwhile.

WHEN I'M WITH YOU - by Chris Engle

WHEN  I'M  WITH  YOU

by Chris Engle

When I'm with you,
eternity is a step away,
my love continues to grow,
with each passing day.

This treasure of love,
I cherish within my soul,
how much I love you...
you'll never really know.

You bring a joy to my heart,
I've never felt before,
with each touch of your hand,
I love you more and more.

Whenever we say goodbye,
whenever we part,
know I hold you dearly,
deep inside my heart.

So these seven words,
I pray you hold true,
"Forever And Always,
I Will Love You."

A LAKE - by Tian Yuan - Japan

A  LAKE

by  Tian Yuan - Japan

If we don’t think it surface stagnation
ripples will form gently on the lake
and also wind will blow through the jungle and set water grasses
undulating on the lake bottom.
If we don’t think it a trap
the mountain’s image will rise up from within the lake
and tree leaves in the water will turn greener and greener.

If we don’t presume it cruel
the drowned child will surface.
The spread net will not fail.
If we don’t presume it thick ice
the dream of skating on it will be frustrated, rolling along
will be impossible
and the long beaks of the herons
will be unable to break up the buildings’ reflections.

If we don’t regard it as a copper mirror
a lot of rubbish on the moon - however much - will be cleaned up
and the sunken ships on the lake bottom will become fishes’ tents.
If we don’t regard it as a blind pupil
it will become a bright eye even on the darkest night
and a face, no matter how ugly, will be clearly reflected.

A lake is but an expanse of water.
Why do we attribute to it
so many “what-ifs” ?

THERE IS A SONG IN MY HEART - by Ravi Sathasivam

THERE  IS  A  SONG  IN  MY  HEART

by  Ravi Sathasivam

There is a song in my heart
and I want to sing it for you in the misty night
No one will ever knows what I have written for you
because it has been written with my heart only for you
Let us be alone when I sing my song for you
and let the melody of my song echo in the sky
I want our world to sleep deep when I sing for you
then only my song will get into your heart softly
My nights are not enough to love you
nor my songs cannot be sung without you
I sing with my heart to tell you how much I love you
I sing with my soul to tell you how much I miss you
My song will wipe your tears away
and immerse my body into your arms for thirsting love
These feelings of loving song comes when I am only with you
and let my love song, sing in your living heart forever

YOUR DAY IS SOMEDAY - by Taralyn Southam

YOUR  DAY  IS  SOMEDAY

by  Taralyn Southam

Simple gifts of joy
Are life's special memories
So many forgotten daily treasures
Is like someone who won't read a book
The cover is opened and closed without thought
As you see every blue sky
And cloudless day,
Warm rain, on a sunny summer day
You walk by as you self-consciously stray
And so many joyful memories are forgotten
Just like that they go rotten
And as the hours go by
And life goes on
So many wonders to see
And you just run by carefree
As you listen to life's chime
You stand aside waiting for your time
But your time is when you realize
Just what you forgot
And how you walked into a big ole knot
And that as you stand aside
Your future flies by
Like it will not see you
And then you hate how it took so long for you to see
That life's joy was every rotten memory
