You make me smile
Like a best friend should
When I have a problem
Or when things don't look so good
Even when I start to cry
You are always there for me
To make those tears come to dry
I realize how lucky I am
to have you in my life
Even when happiness
Seems plainly out of site
The one to lean on when I'm sad
The one to tell secrets to
with whom I could never stay mad
I hope by reading this you have a simple thought
Of everything important that you have once taught
You are my best friend
Not for a week, month, not for a while
But for the rest of my life
You'll always make me smile
