SONG OF A DEW DROP
by Drsudarsan Damodar - Prasad, India
A dew drop on a tiny leaf,
Danced for a while,
With the wind,
Not afraid of
A fall.
Ignoring the bright sun above,
Whose face will grow -
Fierce by the hour,
It danced and danced,
While the song –
Of the breeze,
And the hum of the bees,
Lasted a while.
“Let me have a whale of a time,
Dancing and swaying,
Before I drop down,
In to the huge gorge below,
Or vanish in to thin air,
To join the angels,
Riding the clouds”
