You know how I feel
I know how you feel
But no matter what happens,
I don’t want to say goodbye.
I know you gotta leave
Because life takes it separate paths,
But I don’t want to say goodbye.
I want the best for you,
I really truly do,
But you know in my heart,
That I don’t want to say goodbye.
Wherever life takes you,
I always want to be there,
But sometimes what you want can’t always happen,
And even though I can’t always see you,
Know that I never wanted to say goodbye.
We may talk on the phone,
Or see each other occasionally,
But we both truly know,
That we don’t want to say goodbye.
I’ve been crying all day,
Because of the fact that I can’t have you,
And though you try to comfort me,
I just don’t want to say goodbye.
But honey, will you promise me
That even when you leave,
You call me, and be there for me
Promise me that you’ll cry for me when I’m sad,
And help me when I’m down
Just let me know that you didn’t want to say goodbye.
Because both you and I know in our hearts,
That we didn’t want to say goodbye.
I didn’t want to let go,
And I didn’t want to see you leave
You wanted to stay here with me,
Yet we both know we had to let go,
I’m trying to stay strong just because you asked me to,
But inside I’m torn up.
We know we’ll keep in touch,
But inside, I never wanted to say GOODBYE.
