Lucia Sarto was born in the Udine area in 1950.
In 1961 she won First Prize in a painting competition organised in the Region's Middle Schools.

She trained as an artist in Venice and Turin, cities in which she would successfully participate in a number of group shows. It was in Turin, a famous centre of Italian artistic and cultural life, that she was recognised Female Painter of the Year, with the most significant of her "Romantic Realism" paintings figuring in a one-woman show at the Palazzo della Regione.
She has participated in more that one hundred exhibitions, holding a total of fifty one-woman shows in Italy and abroad.
In 1979 she received the "Female Painter of the Year" award in Como.
In 1980, at a ceremony in the Como Palazzo delle Manfestazioni, she received the 'Costa Armatori Award' for the exhibitions she had organised on transatlantic cruise ships.
In 1981 her show at the Cave in Treviso was a great success with both critics and public.
In 1983 she was invited to take part in the Bari Expo Arte and the Rassegna Internazionale d'Arte at the Palazzo delle Manifestazioni in Salsomaggiore. The Museo Civico in Foggia also held an important retrospective of her work which met with great success.
In the years 1983-84 she exhibited in various European countries, holding one-woman shows in the Kuck Gallery at Eschweiler (Aachen), the Castle Mews Gallery (London) and the International Messe (Basel).
In 1983 a show of her work was held at the prestigious Galerie Otto in Vienna, where annual shows of her work would then take place.
In 1986-87 her work was to be seen at the Paris and Los Angeles Art Fairs.
Since 1986 she has also participated in Poggibonsi Arte, an important exhibition devised and promoted by Tommaso Giotti. Thanks to this latter, a one-woman show of her work would also be held at the Palazzo Affari in Florence in 1993.
Her works are to be seen in various galleries: the Galleria San Giorgio in Portofino (since 1993), the Decò Art Gallery in Lignano Sabbiadoro (since 1995) and the Galleria Melori & Rosenberg in Venice (since 1998).
From 1998 to 2005 she exhibited work at the New York Art Expo.
In 2005, Melori & Rosenberg Publishing issued a new catalogue of her more recent work.
Lucia Sarto's paintings are to be found in important private and public collections in Munich, New York, Tokyo, Nagoya, Vienna, Frankfurt, London, Portofino and Venice.
In May 2005 she exhibited two paintings in the group show "Venice - Views on the Ghetto" organised by the Galleria Melori & Rosenberg in the Sala Modrash Leone da Modena within the heart of Venice's Old Ghetto. In September 2005, as part of the 7th European Day of Jewish Culture, the Galleria Melori & Rosenberg inaugurated a one-women show by the artist in the same prestigious space. Entitled "The Poetry of the Moment", the show would be a great success with critics and public and be extended for more than a month.
Following discussions between the Galleria Melori & Rosenberg and the Italian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, the Italian ambassador in Israel, Dr. Sandro De Barnardin, would exhibit the works from the "View on the Ghetto" exhibition as part of the celebrations for the Feast of the Italian Republic. For that occasion, Melori & Rosenberg Publishing would issue a catalogue with presentations by the ambassador and by Massimo Cacciari, mayor of Venice.
The show "Venice - Views on the Ghetto" would then travel to the 'U. Nahon' Italian Museum of Jewish Art in Jerusalem and to the Italian Cultural Institutes in Haifa and Tel Aviv.
In April 2006 Lucia Sarto exhibited her paintings at the Otto Galerie in Vienna. In summer of that years giclees of her more recent works were requested to adorn the interiors of Cafè Jaleo, a cultural meeting-place in Lanzarote.
From 1-31 December 2006 Lucia Sarto's work can be seen in the group show "Smallworks" being held at the Addision Art Gallery in Boca Raton (Florida).

09.05.07 - Group Show "Venice - Views on Ghetto" hosted in Venice by the Jewish Museum The Show "Venice - Views on Ghetto" featuring two originals by Lucia Sarto, has just come back from Israel. Now it is hosted again at the Jewish Museum of Venice.
From June 2007, Lucia Sarto originals are permanently at Behr-Thyssen Gallery, Manhattan, New York City.
The 2007 june Issue of the prestigious Art World News features on iteresting article on su Lucia Sarto.
On February 2008, Thornwood Gallery presents twenty Lucia Sarto's original paintings in a solo exhibition.
On April 2008 - A&D Art Gallery (Como) presents a solo exhibition: I giardini dell'anima.
In the summer, Decò Art Gallery in Lignano Sabbiadoro, presents Lucia Sarto in: Romantic Realism.
In October 2009 - A&D Art Gallery in Como presents one-woman show entitled "Percorsi". promoted by AMACI in the Day of the Contemporary with the patronage of the municipality of Como.
In December of the same year, took part in the cultural project in Hamburg -15² KUNST Macht Schuleended with an auction at Sotheby's - London.
In 2010 she participates at the important collective exhibition named "In the Space of the Cross" held in Venice and organized by the Melori & Rosenberg Gallery in collaboration with Church of San Salvador.
From May 2010 the Melori & Rosenberg Gallery present Lucia Sarto in "Interior Colors" a solo exhibition that opens a series of shows entitled "Kitchen".
